Welcome From The General Manager

As you visit each area of the hotel, be sure to take note of the pictures and stories that share the proud history of this hotel. Conrad Hilton, a native New Mexican, built this hotel in 1939. It was one of his first hotels, and has become a city, state, and national historic landmark. Once the tallest building in New Mexico, it was also the first to be air conditioned, and the first to have an elevator. As the social epicenter of the city, it has housed presidents, political leaders, famous scientists (and infamous traitors), and even movie stars. It is the only remaining historic hotel in Albuquerque, and is on the National Registry of Historic Places. We take great pride in its restoration.

As an important gift to the twenty-first century, we worked hard to make Hotel Andaluz the most sustainable historic hotel in the nation. Read our “GREEN BY DESIGN” section in this guide, and ask our staff to learn more about how “green” we are, and how you can participate.

Most importantly, we have a dedicated team who are passionate about making your stay at the Andaluz a great experience with unforgettable memories.

Thank you for staying with us.

Will Cordova
